The 4800

No, It is not the amount of times White Girl has coughed today. Although, it's probably pretty close. Nope, not how many people she's infected with her cold either. The doctor made her wear a mask! Sad moment for her. & No I definitely am not referring to that sci fi alien show a few years back.
Fine, Fine, I swear I heard someone whisper uncle. 4800 is the present number of ongoing Farmer's Markets in this eco friendly emerging country of ours.
If you don't already know, White Girl resides in Santa Monica and thus we shall focus on the Westside of Cali.

Who: You- this weekend
What: $5 Fresh Squeezed Mimosas, Fresh cut Flowers, Made to Order organic omelettes & crepes, and a pecan pie that will knock that SARS mask right off...
Where: Main Street & Ocean Park Blvd. Santa Monica, CA
When: Every Sunday Morning from 9:30am-1pm, since 1995
Why: Because you have, hopefully on more than one occasion, enjoyed driving out into the country to appreciate the lush fields of crops and meadows full of wildflowers. That landscape will survive only as long as farms are financially viable. When you buy locally grown food, you are doing something proactive about preserving the agricultural landscape.

How it Works

The new stimulus law beefs up the tax credits that are available to you, helping you slash your overall tax bill. Remember that a tax credit reduces your income taxes dollar-for-dollar. Think of it as getting a rebate for part of what you spend to make your home more energy-efficient.

Before Congress changed the law, you could not claim more than a $500 in tax credits for installing energy-efficient products such as windows, furnaces, heat pumps and the like. Many items had individual caps as well, such as a $200 credit limit on windows.

Now you can claim a maximum total energy credit of $1,500 for 2009 and 2010, and the caps on individual items are eliminated. In addition, the old 10 percent credit rate is juiced up to a more robust 30 percent. That means you can reduce your tax bill by 30 percent of what you pay for the following items that meet federal energy-efficiency standards, up to the $1,500 maximum tax savings:

TAXES, DAY 2

& No, I don't mean like the time your best friend in 8th grade left the peroxide on her hair for 30 minutes too long. WHITE GIRL finally shut her refrigerator door and figured out what she was going to eat BEFORE she stepped foot in the kitchen, sorry Dad. He knew what was up though, even if it was for the sake of his own electric bill.
Okay, so she doesn't necessarily deserve a pat on the back for keeping the broccoli from wilting 37 seconds sooner than usual, but pat or not she's trying to figure it out! It is after all, 2010, whatever that means, eh? Nope, not canadian, just throwing you off my scent.
So she's thinking why not start in a manner we can all get on board with. MONEY in our POCKETS. It is now 2010 and yes, too late to receive green energy credits for 2009 installs that we have yet to do, but the good news- we can and will receive 2010 green energy credits if we get our little tails in high gear.
WHITE GIRL mentioned the other day how much you hate that cold air hiss that blows through the window directly to the left of your right ear when you sit in your Favorite spot on the couch. BOO HOO! Add some insulation and save the receipt. Better yet, energy efficient exterior windows as well as heating and air conditioning systems can fix that problem right up. Yes, a little pricey, but not heady in the least in the long run. Solar hot water heaters and geothermal heat pumps as well.
Geo what now? White girl gone loco, but seriously don't just listen to me...READ what the smart people are saying over at ENERGY STAR.
Oh and Don't ever tell me not to start a sentence with an &, please.
